"My husband brought me to S Prime for my birthday last night. It was the best steakhouse experience I've had in NY so far.


We were greeted at the door by the very friendly Maitre d'. We sat at the bar for a glass of wine before heading to our table. The bartender was attentive. The wine selection was pretty fantastic. No one rushed us to sit.  When we were ready, we were brought to our table.


Our server was happy, efficient, and funny. He gave us the time we needed to make our selections & made sure we knew about the on premises dry aging of their steaks. We made our selections, sat back, and enjoyed ourselves.


The chef sent out cauliflower soup shooters topped with caviar. They were delicious. I wanted seconds. The pretzel brioche was tasty, too. We started with a couple glasses of Perrier Jouet Champagne, the colossal shrimp cocktail, and a beet salad with apples and huge chunks of Roquefort. Yum yum yum! For course 2, I decided on the 12oz filet mignon and my husband picked the 28oz 28 day dry aged ribeye. Holy cow (no pun intended) did my husband make the right choice! Don't get me wrong...mine was juicy and flavorful. But the aging, the sear, and the flavor of that ribeye was amazing!! I kept stealing bites for myself. We also shared the lobster mac and cheese. I never expect to get a ton of lobster when I order this at a restaurant, but this was full of lobster. My husband ended up finishing it right out of the dish it was served in. I was having trouble finding room for my last few bites, but I was never rushed by any if the staff. (This is something I appreciate almost as much as the meal itself.)  We ended with Frangelico and their trio of creme brulee. The flavors were a traditional custard, mocha, & chestnut.  They were all tasty, but to my surprise, the traditional custard flavor was my favorite.


The prices are what you'd expect from a steakhouse, but definitely worth every penny at this Queens newcomer!"

"Will definitely be going again when I want to splurge on a great steak. Oh, and if you happen to live in Ditmars, Astoria or LIC and are in the mood for great steak, no need to travel to the city or Brooklyn! Give S Prime a try!"

"We opted for S Prime over traveling for dinner on Saturday night. Four of us were meeting for a special occasion. When we arrived at nearly 8 PM, the restaurant was extremely quiet. Our initial concerns about that were abated when more diners started arriving and we sat down to dinner. The menu is everything you would expect in a steakhouse with a few surprises on the entree selections and the sides. The wine list had a wide array of wines to choose from. The food was GREAT! Really, the steaks were good, the raw bar was equally great (although I would have liked to see a little more food for $40 per person on the raw bar). The service was spot on and we had a great experience all in. Expensive, but worth the splurge."

I couldn't say better things about this place!  Service was over the top perfect, the food was simply amazing and the decor was spectacular.  I can really go on and on about this place but I'm going to have to stop myself.  I really hope this fine establishment does well in the coming months and hopefully for years!  Forget about Manhattan!  Forget bout Peter Lugers or Benjamin's Steakhouse or Uncle Jacks.  S Prime is where it's at!"

"We just had a fantastic dinner at this new steakhouse in Astoria/L.I.CMelt-in-your-mouth filet mignons and monstrous aged ribeye accompanied by the best creamed corn on earth and silky smooth mashed potatoes. For desserts we had a creme brûlée sampler (chocolate, earl gray, and classic- all fantastic), a super generous slice of a creamy and delicious cheesecake, and a delicious pecan pie. We'll be back."
